3. CRITICAL ANALYSIS

This fantastical young adult fiction book is written by Terry Pratchett. It falls under the category of comical historical fiction. This novel takes place in a supernatural world of magic. It involves many fantastical creatures including magicians, witches, trolls, fairies, and Death. This novel follows Rincewild and his guiding of Twoflower around Ankh-Morpork. Things begin to go awry when people realize how much money the tourist has.  The characters play off each other perfectly. The magical elements placed throughout the book are a fun aspect; it’s reminiscent of Harry Potter with types of creatures and a suitcase personified. There are humorous parts of the plot that break up the tense moments. The book jumped around a bit for my liking but I know that readers who enjoy this genre will like it.
